Lessons is both a live performance and studio album. The music is emotionally driven, dreamy and experimental ambient in nature, based around a series of interviews with loved ones. What started out as conversations with no defined intention soon evolved into the realisation that most of the important lessons he had learnt during his life came through love, not mistakes made. These conversations serve as both a backing track and impetus for the conceptual musical works. Performed live on an eclectic array of vintage analogue synthesizers, tape machines and effect units. Lessons contains a warm, nostalgic feeling that draws listeners ears back to the romantic era of synthesiser music. Sonic ties and inspiration from artists such as Cluster, Harmonia, and Portishead can be found within the lush textures and dreamy sonic landscape Brett Little provides. While modern artists such as Nils Frahn, Alessandro Cortini and Hania Rani help provide impetus for compositions that while containing neo classical elements, fall into an other worldly electronic genre of its own.
